Friendship During Trying Times
We seldom stop to think how many peoples' lives are entwined with our own. It is a form of selfishness to imagine that every individual can operate on her own or can pull out of the general stream and not be missed. -Ivy Baker Priest
Being a new mother can try a woman's soul. Those of us who make the decision to have a child usually discover that we have gotten more than we bargained for. No matter how many crises we've endured, including floods and earthquakes, motherhood is harder. The cumulative upsets that can be generated in just one day are certainly trying.
Our true friends understand and accommodate our special needs with chocolate, e-cards, and mission calls to make us aware that we may be missing but are still very active in their lives.
